In 2014 , having lived in London for over 30 years, I relocated to Los Angeles with my husband and two boys. The move and our subsequent return journeys home instigated an expansion in ideas and explorations that had been present in my work for sometime. In particular those around heritage, familial ties, memory and belonging. The works entitled ‘Bound’ take the form of intimate video performances. Using sewing materials, thread and wool the resulting series of works are shot, hand held, on outdoor locations of personal significance across both Europe and America. Sculptures created from the detritus of the performances form a series of tactile 2 and 3 dimensional works
