Crushing

In 2017 I began an ongoing series of experimental works - entitled ‘Crushing’ - utilizing poisonous plants and flowers. Video, cibachromes and sculptures document the transformation and decay of deadly plants in giant custom made flower presses. The presses are left in several cities across Europe and the US for years at a time. Futile attempts at capturing the living and the inevitable decay and atrophy that results, the works are fragile reminders that memories fade, turn to dust, and life’s only guarantee is impermanence.
