Doll Screenprints

The printmaking department at the Royal College of Art was an extraordinary resource that enabled me to create these large 14 color screen prints. I was awarded the Augustus Martin Prize for this series and went on to create a larger run screen print, ‘You Made Me’ (shown here) at their commercial printers as part of the prize. The works center around my ‘friendship’ with an inflatable sex doll and our adventures together all over the world. This remained my central theme for close to a decade. What the doll represented changed with time, but the over arching exploration of feminist theory, objectification, patriarchy and inequality were a constant preoccupation and remain so to this day.
