it only takes one

The apple is a potent symbol the world over, from the garden of Eden to Greek mythology, from ancient  Norse folklore to Disney fairy tale.
Moms homemade apple pie, the apple of my eye, one bad apple… A symbol of seduction, betrayal, temptation, and purity, it is weighty with readings and meaning.

In spite of the passage of time and truths revealed, childhood memories of lying in dappled sunlight as pale scented blossom spin to the damp grass around me, linger still.
While it only takes one bad one to spoil it all for others, for me the apple is a reminder that, for better or worse, there is no place like home.
